It’s just one day to go until our big Queer the Shelves event, and I can’t wait! We sold out six weeks before the day, and that’s a wonderful feeling. Knowing we’re going to have an audience for all our lovely creatives who are making the trek to Nottingham to share their talent with us is a fantastic boon as we make final preparations. I’m ironing our flags, sorting our books, getting food orders ready, and making up beds for authors kipping at our house, and I’m super excited to meet you/see you again!
This year, we’re in the fancy and newly-built Nottingham Library, and their Events Lead, Georgie Dane-Wilding, has been awesome. It’s truly been a pleasure to work with such a professional, and nothing has been too much trouble. Rather than hide us away and have as little to do with the event as possible, Georgie has gone out of her way to do anything and everything she can to help make QTS be the best event we’ve ever put on. We think you’re going to love our new home, and our twenty-one attending creatives can’t wait to meet you all and see old friends. And if you’re around on Friday evening, why not join us for a pre-event celebration at the New Foresters on Glasshouse Street from 7 p.m.?
And on Saturday, there’ll be a huge book table featuring novels and works from our attending authors, so let’s Queer Your Shelves!
Robyn Nyx/Helena Harte will be at QTS on Saturday 29th. Come say hi!
