What Brand of Tea…by E.V. Bancroft

What’s not to like about attending an event like Queer the Shelves? For a friendly introvert like me, being able to talk about books and meet other authors and readers is a real joy that uplifts my soul. In normal life we have to deal with Real Life Issues; here we can connect about characters and craft and enhance our skills.
The readings are an opportunity to be exposed to new writers. I particularly love it when a professional narrator breathes life into the characters, it’s like adding a whole extra level.
The panels and interactive sessions are probably my favourite part of the day as we get insights into authors’ process or approach – or just what brand of tea they like. So yes, I guess it’s an opportunity to meet authors whose work I really admire, and I come away inspired on my writing journey.
I guess the best part of all is having fun and reconnecting with friends new and old, and that people are accepted for who they are in this quirky engaging tribe.
